Latino entrepreneur, student & innovator. Luis is an advocate for education and social causes. He is convinced of the power of Gen Z members to create a better society. As a low-income and first-generation student Luis is committed to being the bridge between opportunities and teenagers from underprivileged backgrounds. Besides, he has thoroughly supported the development of social initiatives in Latin America. Indeed, he has been recognized nationally and internationally for his advocacy.

The Youth Sounding Board members were selected through an open call that resulted in more than 4 500 applications from 150 countries.The board will advise Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen, and the Directorate-General for International Partnerships on youth participation and empowerment in EU external action.

UPG Biashara entrepreneur

Selected as a candidate for the #UPGBiashara Class of 2023, among 500+ entrepreneurs from over 80 countries.UPG Biashara is an initiative that supports entrepreneurs in their journey to turn ideas into businesses. This includes growing and strengthening existing enterprises. After 6 weeks, 52 classes, 4 pitch festivals and 78 hours of class, I got certified as a Biashara entrepreneur.

Honorable mention-UNESCO

UNESCO Clubs 2023 Worldwide Youth Multimedia Competition. Out of over 1,000 applications, from countries around the world, I was awarded one of twenty honorable mentions because of my social impact project focused on the Sustainable Development Goals.

Young challengers program

Selected to be part of the Young Challengers program by The Grameen Creative Lab (GCL), founded by Nobel Peace Prize Muhammad Yunus. Got one of the 10 full scholarships to pitch a business idea in Italy out of 200 applicants.The program started on the 8th of September 2022 and ended on the 9th of November 2022. During two months I worked on defining a social project with international teammates and then we pitched it in the Global Business Summit in Turin.

Leading is healing, leading is loving, and leading is a student’s need

Coauthored an essay, with the CEO of Enseña Perú, after being the first lead of the virtual student leadership program. This essay was submitted as a response to Teach For All's call to their network to seek insights from educators on this question: “What do students need now?”. Educators and policy makers everywhere are debating what we should focus on now to ensure quality of education.

Global teen leader

Selected as one of the 34 Global Teen Leaders in the Three Dot Dash Program, by We Are Family Foundation. This cohort represents teenagers from 23 countries and 5 continents, chosen from +500 applications for their social good innovations and promise for a more just, equitable, and peaceful future. The program lasts one year where GTLs are mentored and attend capacity building workshops.

Shaping a better world through social entrepreneurship

Edulimitless

We boost the development of 21st-century skills through project-based learning in Latin America. As the CEO & founder of Edulimitless, I have designed, organized and led, with volunteers, over 7 courses and directly impacted more than 250 students since October 2020. English Classes

Being able to communicate in English is a 21st century skill that allows access to knowledge and technology. Likewise, it helps to develop other skills such as problem solving and critical thinking. (Education First, 2017). In this way, we enhance linguistic intelligence.

Digital Skills

We developed the Scratch workshop for children. Its main feature is that it allows the development of mental skills by learning programming without having in-depth knowledge about coding. Through Scratch and Python, we promote computational intelligence.

Leadership Program

The International Leadership Program is a space for multidisciplinary growth that enhances the student's agency skills, self-knowledge, and global citizenship. It helped teens to dive into their passions while exploring their vulnerability. They also learned about social entrepreneurship.

Student Leadership Program

I worked for Enseña Perú as a leadership consultant & coordinator. During 2021 & 2022, I led the first decentralized virtual leadership program in Peru, designed sessions and the methodology to be used.   • Selected to participate in LALA’s leadership camp. 200 young people were selected from a total of 700 applicants. Scholarship of USD 450 to cover the total cost of USD 500. (Virtual program, 2021)
  • Chosen by the Minister of Education to study at the high-performance school, COAR Lambayeque, with a fully funded scholarship for three years to pursue the International Baccalaureate Programme. Out of 779 applicants, 70 were selected. (Peru, 2017-2019)
