Hey, I'm Luis, a Data Scientist and builder who likes turning messy data and LLMs into things people actually use. I have a deep interest in applied machine learning and AI product design. This year, I worked on a two-agent commerce assistant on AWS Bedrock at Mibanco (Credicorp Group), and I built COAR.connect, a full-stack AI career platform now used by 160+ students. On another end, as a low-income, first-generation student, I've spent the last five years building the bridge I didn't have: founding Edulimitless and advising the European Commission's Youth Sounding Board on youth policy. I'm a senior at Pitzer College, double majoring in Data Science and Economics.

Data Science Intern
Mibanco, Credicorp Group · Lima, Peru- Engineered a proof of concept two agent LLM commerce assistant in Python on AWS Bedrock; built a deterministic routing layer that resolved 99.8% of 3,636 customer messages without an LLM call, reducing per turn latency from 3 to 5 seconds to milliseconds
- Audited a speech analytics pipeline processing 205K+ conversations; identified and resolved an issue affecting human escalation labels (0 of 43,968) and validated synthetic NPS metrics through SQL analysis
- Analyzed 30 days of messaging activity in Athena across 112,590 users to identify anomalous bot usage patterns, establishing activity thresholds of 181 messages per month for enrolled users and 65 for non enrolled users
- Analyzed an A/B test on personalized onboarding across 109,221 users; found no statistically meaningful improvement in enrollment and identified substantially lower conversion among users with 6+ stored memories (0.07% vs. 1.90%), controlling for activity level
